Long Range LASER Based Elephant Early Warning System
Detection:
A fully automated LASER fence with transmitter and receiver separation 200m+. Elephant movement is tracked down when it crosses the fence. The fence doesn’t create any obstruction to elephant movement only detects its movement.
Identification:
Identification is based on two parameters ‘Elephant Height’ and ‘Activation Time’. LASER light is fixed at 1.8m (average height of an Elephant) and added with a contentious line blockage time of 5sec (activation time which elephant takes to cross the line and it's experimentally verified)
Early Warning:
On valid detection system sends location-specific SMS to pre-saved mobile numbers of nearby farmers and forest officials. The local flashlight also activated to warn villagers and also to distract the elephant for time being. An SMS-based buzzer is also kept to the forest office and nearby farmer’s house as an add-on alert in case SMS is un-noticed.

Road-kill Prevention System
It’s a truly indigenous Visible LASER or Invisible LASER-based optical fence system to provide safe road crossing for wild animals from vehicular traffic. When the laser line gets blocked for a certain duration (‘Activation Time’) by a road crossing animal, it triggers a Traffic Light Alarm at a certain distance via a wireless signal. A single unit can cover a 200m distance for visible LASER and 70m for invisible LASER.

Multiple units can be connected as an optical fence chain which will work in relay mode to cover a long distance. The ‘Activation Time’ based approach will allow the system to avoid any false detection due to falling leaf, flying birds, etc. The ‘Activation Time’ and multiple LASER lines will give a rough estimation of the type and numbers of animals which will be helpful in framing different light alert patterns at Traffic Light Alert for the approaching vehicles.
