Elephant Footstep Vibration Recording System

Our team has successfully finished the design of an indigenous Elephant Footstep Vibration Recording System (EGVRS) using Geophone which has been funded by WWF India and for the very first time successfully recorded Asiatic elephant seismic vibration in India (Newspaper: The Hindu, 23rd July 2016). Following the remarkable success with the first phase, PI has got additional funding from WWF India to design a 'proof of concept' for the 'Elephant Early and Warning System' (EEWS) system to provide early warning for reducing ongoing human-elephant-conflict. A few months back, with his team applicant has successfully conducted a ‘proof of concept’ experiment with indigenous EEWS (Patent application no. 201841000122). The experiment has successfully segregated elephant footsteps from other comparative ground vibrations e.g.; Human, Cow, Pig footsteps, or any types of vehicular vibrations with 90% accuracy under a few constraints.

Invisible LASER based next generation Elephant Early Warning System (EEWS)

Its designed with 780nm invisible LASER with the same functionality of our visible 680nm LASER based EEWS system. We have recorded a 150m operational range (transmitter and receiver alignment) with our test prototype.
